How are Caribou Pens made?
We start with hand picked materials, cut to show the greatest contrast, grain and color. This material once cut is called a blank. We then drill the blank and turn each blank on a wood lathe to micro specifications. We sand and polish the blanks using micro abrasives to achieve the highest gloss possible.
The blanks are then pressed into the appropriate fittings and a another Caribou Pen is born
What kind of experience do the craftsmen at Caribou Pens have?
Our Senior Craftsman has over 15 years making and designing Pens
Does Caribou stand behind their quality?
Absolutely, every Caribou Pen leaves the factory inspected numerous times. But if there is a problem in the material or craftsmanship we will pay for return shipping, either fix or replace the pen free of charge, and return the pen at our cost. We will include a new, free ink cartridge for the trouble.
There are instances however, where inadvertently, a pen can be dropped, immersed in water, or otherwise misused. In these cases we will be more than happy to fix your Caribou Pen (if possible) for a nominal fee. Of course freight charges will apply.
Most Caribou Pens last for years without any difficulties whatsoever and are capable of withstanding a great amount of wear and tear. I know people that travel all over the world with Caribou Pens and have misused them in about every conceivable way – yet they keep on writing year after year with a patina that seems make them more beautiful as time goes by.
Is Caribou Pens considering new collections and assortments of Pens?
Our Designers are constantly looking at new collections and materials.
It is our goal to come out with a new collection every year.
